Understanding the Nature and Structure of Lifechanyuan

Content excerpted from “Please Understand the Nature of Lifechanyuan” and “An Overview of Lifechanyuan” by Xuefeng.

The Nature of Lifechanyuan

The purpose of Lifechanyuan is to revere the Greatest Creator, revere life itself, revere nature, and walk the Way of the Greatest Creator. The Way of the Greatest Creator is the way of nature.

The aim of Lifechanyuan is to “harvest the ripe crops.”

Its by-product is to create for humanity a brand-new mode of production and living, completely different from the traditional model, so that humanity and human life may continue for one thousand years in a state of harmony among people, society, and nature. This one-thousand-year era is called the Age of Lifechanyuan.

The mentors of Lifechanyuan are Jesus Christ, Buddha Shakyamuni, Laozi the immortal, and all sages and wise ones throughout human history.

Xuefeng is the Guide of Lifechanyuan, the messenger of Buddha and the Greatest Creator, and the embodiment of divine, Buddhist, immortal, and saintly beings. His duty is to guide Chanyuan Celestials toward the Thousand-Year World, the Ten-Thousand-Year World, and the Celestial Island continent of the Elysium World.

Lifechanyuan is not a political organization, not a religious organization, and not any type of social organization. Therefore, there are no laws, regulations, commandments, or disciplinary codes of any kind in Lifechanyuan, nor are there any political or religious ritual activities of any kind.

Lifechanyuan does not belong to any country, any political or religious organization, any ethnicity, any culture, or even to humanity.

Lifechanyuan is not hostile to any country, any government, any ethnicity, any political party, any religion, any sect, or any individual.

Lifechanyuan does not engage in production or business activities purely for profit, does not engage in political or social activities that oppose government or society, does not engage in mysterious or clandestine activities, and does not engage in matters completely contrary to facts, science, logic, and spiritual perception.

The Structure of Lifechanyuan

Lifechanyuan does not belong to any country, ethnicity, religion, political party, organization, group, or individual; therefore, branch homes should be established throughout the world.

Lifechanyuan is not a religion, so it has no special rituals or requirements. It is not a company, so it does not participate in profit-oriented business activities. It is not a political party, so it has no charter and does not engage in political activities.

Those who participate in the leadership work of Lifechanyuan will receive no material benefits. However, because of your extraordinary wisdom and selfless devotion, people will respect and praise you, and your name will surely be engraved on the milestone of Lifechanyuan for everlasting remembrance.

Lifechanyuan consists of the soul level and the management level.

Its structure is as follows:

Hundun Yuanchu
The Two Saints of Yin and Yang
The Four Heavenly Kings
The Eight Dharma Masters
The Sixteen Zen Masters
The Thirty-Two Realm Masters
The Sixty-Four Messengers
The One Hundred Twenty-Eight Dao Chiefs
The Two Hundred Fifty-Six Home Presidents
The Five Hundred Twelve Home Scholars

Second Home Production and Living Procedures

Note: This compilation is mainly based on the 56 Second Home Production and Living Procedures dated 2024-08-24, with reference also made to the 2023-07-22 Introduction (Draft) to the Production and Living Procedures of Lifechanyuan Second Home, the 2014-06-06 Second Home Living Procedures, the 2012-12-30 Outline of Home Living Procedures and the Handling of Various Relationships, the 2025-04-27 The Anchor Needle of Humanity: Saint Group Decision-Making, the 2025-04-29 Introduction to Lifechanyuan’s Highest Organ of Power, and the 2025-05-02 Adjustment of the Saint Group Structure: Legislators Must Not Enforce the Law. The content is drawn from the Guide’s original articles. Some repeated items have been merged or adjusted and categorized for easy reference.

The 800 Concepts for a New Era of Humanity and the procedures for home production and living are the cornerstone that guarantees humanity’s entry into an advanced civilization and are also the talisman that ensures home life remains orderly, effective, and enduring. Every crowned Chanyuan Celestial should understand and observe them.

The core purpose of establishing the Home is to enable every crowned Chanyuan Celestial to live a life of joy, happiness, freedom, and blessedness, and through the refinement of such a life, to be uplifted from human to immortal.

The purpose of the production and living procedures of the Second Home of Lifechanyuan is:

  1. to provide an environment and conditions in the style of the Thousand-Year World for harvesting ripe crops;
  2. to create for humanity a highly civilized and sustainable mode of production and living for people to learn from, reference, imitate, and practice.

Guiding principle of the procedures: Revere the Greatest Creator, revere life itself, revere nature, and walk the Way of the Greatest Creator, namely the way of nature.

Composition of the Second Home Members

It is composed of Chanyuan Celestials who are familiar with and consciously and voluntarily follow the Chanyuan philosophy. Among Chanyuan Celestials, there is no subordinate relationship. All are equal, owe nothing to one another, place no constraints on one another, bear no obligations toward one another, and are not responsible for one another.

The Guide

  1. The Guide is Hundun Yuanchu, responsible for spiritual and soul guidance, but not for the Home’s production and living affairs, nor for handling problems related to production and living.
  2. The spiritual and soul guidance of all members is the sole responsibility of the Guide. No one else is responsible or qualified to guide others spiritually or inwardly. People may write reflections, experiences, and insights, but should not try to impose their own understanding on any other member. When the Guide is absent, the Guide’s articles, that is, the Chanyuan philosophy, serve as the guiding principles and path for spiritual and soul guidance.
  3. There is only one Guide. After the Guide passes away, there will be no new Guide; the Chanyuan philosophy itself will be the Guide.
  4. The responsibilities of Guide Xuefeng will gradually transition to members of the soul level, chiefly the spiritual mentors of Lifechanyuan, who will be responsible for advancing the creation of Lifechanyuan’s spiritual and soul wealth.

The Saint Group

  1. The highest organ of power in Lifechanyuan is the Saint Group decision-making body.
  2. The Saint Group decision-making body consists of eight saints who have contributed and devoted the most and who have been Chanyuan Celestials for more than eight years. Members of the soul level, spiritual mentors, or management figures may not become members of the Saint Group decision-making body.
  3. Contributions and devotion to Lifechanyuan are quantified as heavenly wealth, namely F-coins. The more F-coins one has, the greater one’s contribution and devotion.
  4. Lifechanyuan’s founder, Guide Xuefeng, will gradually evolve into a symbolic presence and will submit to all decisions of the Saint Group decision-making body.
  5. Affairs of the Home are decided by the Saint Group and managed by the wise. In this way, the enterprise will continue moving forward. For the time being, the Saint Group decision-making body is positioned in nature like a “jury” in Western systems; whether it should later be positioned as a “legislative body” will be discussed according to the development needs of Lifechanyuan.
  6. The main responsibilities of the Saint Group decision-making body are:
  1. appointing and dismissing the General Home President and General Assistant;
  2. withdrawing the title of Chanyuan Celestial;
  3. deciding whether a Chanyuan Celestial should be expelled from the Home;
  4. reviewing the flow of Home funds;
  5. determining the scale and direction of Home development;
  6. identifying and remedying problems and loopholes in Home operating procedures;
  7. verifying the authenticity of F-coins;
  8. carrying out macro-level strategic adjustments.
  1. Whoever’s F-coin amount ranks among the top eight automatically becomes a member of the Saint Group decision-making body. Saint Group membership is not fixed. Once a member’s F-coin amount is surpassed, that person is replaced by the one who surpasses them, and the system automatically removes that member’s qualification from the Saint Group decision-making body.
  2. The Saint Group decision-making body is convened by the person with the highest amount of F-coins. This convener is also not fixed. Whoever has the most F-coins automatically becomes the convener, and the previous convener is automatically replaced.
  3. Let those who have contributed and devoted the most to humanity decide all human affairs. Whoever has contributed and devoted the most to the public should be allowed to worry for and take responsibility for everyone. This is not only fair, but also the best protection for the public. Whoever wishes to ascend to the peak of power must selflessly and egolessly devote themselves to the public. Regardless of education, status, identity, background, intelligence, or other factors, as long as your F-coins are numerous enough and rank first, you qualify.

General Home President, General Assistant, and Branch Home Presidents

  1. The construction of Lifechanyuan’s material wealth is advanced by the General Home President, General Assistant, and Branch Home Presidents.
  2. The General Home President, General Assistant, and Branch Home Presidents are responsible only for production and living, not for guidance in the spiritual and soul realms, nor for handling spiritual or soul-related issues, so as to avoid the Home becoming a dictatorship that combines politics and religion.
  3. The Saint Group appoints and dismisses the General Home President and General Assistant. The General Home President serves a term of two years. After two years, the Saint Group elects the next General Home President. Re-election is allowed, but no more than four consecutive terms, with a maximum of eight years.
  4. The General Home Assistant cooperates with the General Home President in handling the Home’s production and living affairs, but does not handle the specific affairs of branch homes.
  5. The General Home President nominates candidates for Branch Home President, and then all members of that branch vote by a show of hands. Approval requires at least 85%. If approval is below 85%, the General Home President must nominate another candidate until one wins 85% approval.
  6. A Chanyuan Celestial who has lived in the Home for less than three years may not become a Branch Home President. Those who have made no contribution to the Home may not become Branch Home President. Those who have not passed the labor test may not become Branch Home President.
  7. Branch Home Presidents must also rotate among branch homes. No one may remain in the same branch for more than three years. When transferring, a Branch Home President must go alone and may absolutely not take along anyone they consider to be an effective assistant.
  8. Branch Home Presidents are responsible to the General Home President and have full authority to handle all production and living affairs within their own branch. All affairs, large and small, in each branch are handled solely by the Branch Home President.
  9. If a Branch Home President encounters a difficult problem that requires coordination from the General Home, they should first contact the General Home Assistant directly. Problems the Assistant cannot solve are then handled by the General Home President.
  10. Branch homes should exchange what they have with one another, share blessings and hardships alike, and maintain a consistent standard of living across all branch homes worldwide.

Website Management, Philosophy Promotion, Home School, and Home Company

  1. Website management and promotion of the philosophy are the responsibility of the website chief. Before the location of the General Home is determined, the living needs of the Chanyuan Celestials responsible for website management and philosophy promotion are arranged by the branch homes, while their work is determined by the General Home.
  2. All affairs of the Home school are under the full authority of the principal. Teachers needed by the school are selected by the principal from among the branch homes, with Branch Home Presidents cooperating. The school is directly under the leadership of the General Home, while the branch in which the school is located is responsible for the living affairs of the teachers and children.
  3. The Home company is directly under the leadership of the General Home. Company affairs are handled by the general manager and are separate from the branch homes. Company personnel are selected by the general manager from among the branch homes.

Finance, Purchasing, and Supplies

  1. The Home’s finances are managed by the Home President, Branch Home Presidents, purchasing staff, and the Chanyuan Celestial in charge of bank accounts, and are coordinated according to the needs of each branch. Anyone who handles the Home’s finances must have lived in the Home for at least five years. Anyone with less than five years in the Home may not handle the Home’s finances.
  2. The Home economy practices Hundun management: there is no accountant, no cashier, no supervision, no public ledger, and nothing is disclosed internally or externally. Everything is a mystery. In any case, the money is not stolen, robbed, cheated, or borrowed, and no one has the right to know—unless you have invested in or donated to the Home, in which case the Home will give you a detailed account.
  3. Each Home shall have one financial officer dedicated to financial management. Every month, after compiling the income and expenditure list of the branch, this officer reports to the Home’s chief financial supervisor. The Branch Home President does not interfere in financial management and must not control money personally, but must remain clean-handed and empty-handed. Financial staff of each branch are designated by the General Home President and managed by the General Home’s financial负责人.
  4. Once one enters Home life, one declares oneself to own nothing. Everything one has belongs entirely to the Home, including one’s mobile phone, computer, and even underpants. No one may possess any private property. One must truly own nothing and must never entertain the thought or consciousness of “this is mine.”
  5. Home resources are shared. There may be no supervisory or defensive measures of any kind. Everyone is to be trusted completely.
  6. Whatever the brothers and sisters in the Home need, as long as the Home has the means, their needs should be met.
  7. A storeroom shall be set up for temporarily unused items and commonly purchased daily necessities. Anyone who wants to use something may go directly to the storeroom to take it, without asking permission or reporting to anyone. However, a designated person must be assigned to inventory and organize the storeroom so as to keep it clean and orderly.
  8. Anything one does not use or rarely uses must be washed clean and placed in the storeroom.
  9. Items needed for daily living should be taken directly from the storeroom. If the storeroom does not have them, one should directly inform the purchasing staff to buy them. If the amount of money involved is relatively large, the purchasing staff should inform the Branch Home President and listen to their suggestions.
  10. In all aspects of Home life, a simple, economical, and natural standard of living must be thoroughly practiced. Based on the principle of making full use of things, there must be no waste, no extravagance, and no greed for any unnecessary extra item.
  11. All Home belongings, including tools and other utensils, must have a designated place. After use, they must be cleaned and returned to their original place. They may not be put down carelessly.
  12. When taking items from places where many goods are concentrated, such as the daily supplies storeroom, pharmacy, food storage room, tool room, or utility room, one must maintain the arrangement of all types of items. When leaving, one must ensure that everything is restored to its original orderly position. If something is hard to find or cannot be found, it is best to ask the person in charge rather than rummaging through everything and leaving a mess, taking what one needs and then walking away without caring.

Work and Labor

  1. After entering the Home, every person must first and foremost be a manual laborer. In the Second Home, absolutely no one may exist who does not participate in physical labor. Anyone who has not passed the labor test must absolutely not be allowed to engage in other work. To “pass the labor test” means that within a period of three to six months, one does the dirtiest, hardest, and most exhausting work in the Home from morning to night every day without a single complaint or grievance, and still lives happily each day.
  2. Every crowned Chanyuan Celestial in the Home is a laborer and a creator of material wealth, spiritual wealth, and soul wealth. Those who create nothing may not live in the Home.
  3. The Home’s affairs, large and small, are discussed in life meetings and specific people are assigned responsibility. Every task in the Home, no matter how small, must have a specific person responsible.
  4. Whoever is responsible has the final say. Everyone else must fully cooperate and may not criticize, accuse, or meddle with the person in charge.
  5. Whoever makes a proposal must take responsibility for it. If you do not want responsibility, then do not make suggestions.
  6. Every member living in the Home must take responsibility for one or more specific affairs. There may be no one without concrete responsibility, except children and the elderly.
  7. Whenever there are collective activities, including collective labor, all members must participate in full, regardless of what work they usually do.
  8. In the Home’s production and creative work, it is enough as long as one does one’s utmost; no standards may be set.
  9. Every place in the Home must be built into a picturesque paradise: fragrant with fruits and melons, shaded by green trees, orderly, clean, and neat, harmonious, warm, auspicious, beautiful, and unpolluted, with not a trace of garbage or flying dust.

Study of the Philosophy, Life Meetings, and Games and Entertainment

  1. Every Wednesday evening after dinner, the Chanyuan philosophy shall be studied and contemplated.
  2. The person responsible for the Home’s study is designated by the Guide. When the Guide is absent, it is successively conducted by figures from the soul level of Lifechanyuan.
  3. Every Friday evening after dinner, a life meeting shall be held. At the life meeting everyone may speak freely, make suggestions, complain, express grievances, discuss matters, point out loopholes and shortcomings in production and living, and put forward their own ideas; they may also summarize the past week’s experience and arrange the next week’s production and living.
  4. If one has dissatisfaction or resentment in the heart, it may be released only at the Friday life meeting. At other times it may not be shown, especially not by gossiping behind anyone’s back.
  5. At least one joyful evening party and at least one game activity shall be held every month to display the Home’s spirit and the grace of Chanyuan Celestials, praise nature and life, elevate temperament and bearing, improve cultural and aesthetic cultivation, and strengthen mutual exchange and the infectious power and cohesion of collective life.

Food, Clothing, Housing, and Transportation

  1. The Home has two meals a day. Meal times are determined by collective discussion in each branch according to its time zone. Once mealtime is set, all members must consciously observe it, because order is efficiency.
  2. The dining hall must ensure that there is food available to eat 24 hours a day. Those who need an extra meal may go to the dining hall at any time to get food. Meals are served on time, and everyone eats punctually. Without special circumstances, no one may come early or late. Everyone eats in the dining hall (except elderly or sick persons who have difficulty walking). Food may not be taken to the bedroom. During meals, one must observe the Xuefeng Civilized Dining Table Rules, and when leaving the table, one must put the stool back and wipe the table clean.
  3. People eat whatever the cooks prepare; no one may be picky or protest. Whoever is picky or protests shall become the cook.
  4. When dining in the Home dining hall, one may not leave leftovers. Not a grain of rice may remain in the bowl, and not a sip of soup may remain. If, due to greed, one truly cannot finish the food, it must be set aside separately and eaten the next day. Before finishing one’s own leftovers, one is not allowed to eat newly prepared food.
  5. All Chanyuan Celestials in the Home must eat in the dining hall and may not cook separately. If someone has special dietary needs, such as allergies to certain foods or being unable to chew hard foods because of their teeth, the cook must be informed in advance for special care.
  6. The Home’s dietary standard is slightly above the world average. There must be no extravagance and no waste. No one may leave food behind; not a grain of rice may remain in the bowl. Everything must be eaten cleanly.
  7. During meals in the dining hall, absolutely no foul language, nose-blowing, or spitting that might disgust others is allowed.
  8. During meals in the dining hall, loud noise is not allowed. One’s voice should be only loud enough for the person being spoken to to hear.
  9. When taking food in the dining hall, keep your mouth closed so that speaking does not spray saliva onto the food and make it unhygienic.
  10. In public places, especially during dining and collective activities, wearing slippers, going bare-chested or exposing one’s back, or appearing in an indecent manner is forbidden.
  11. There are no administrative offices in the Home, but there may be a reception room for guests.
  12. Chanyuan Celestial bedrooms shall rotate every three months. A Chanyuan Celestial may live in the same Home for at most three years (this is the procedure once conditions permit). Rotation arrangements are to be discussed and decided by the Branch Home Presidents.
  13. In the Home, a personal bedroom should contain nothing other than a bed, bedding, table, chair, cabinet, clothes, luggage, and internet tools. No consumables or daily necessities may be stored in the bedroom. All extra items must be stored in the storeroom.
  14. If conditions permit, every member should, as far as possible, have an independent bedroom. No one may enter another person’s bedroom without that person’s permission. In warm weather, curtains should be opened during the daytime (unless during a noon rest or under special circumstances), and doors should not be locked, so that those responsible for tidying and cleaning may enter.
  15. No male immortal may step even half a step into a fairy’s bedroom without her consent. No matter whose room it is, permission must be sought before entering. If knocking, knock gently; if closing a door, close it gently; the same applies to car doors.
  16. Those who have made great contributions in the material, spiritual, and soul realms are the meritorious ones of Lifechanyuan. When arranging housing in each branch, their needs should be satisfied first; when arranging work, their strengths should be appropriately considered so that they may发挥 their strengths as much as possible, and they should be kept in as free a state as possible—that is, allowed to do whatever they wish without being assigned work.
  17. The General Home President, Branch Home Presidents, and people of the soul level may not enjoy any special privileges.

Birth, Aging, Illness, and Death

  1. The Home fully takes responsibility for the food, clothing, shelter, transportation, aging, illness, and death of every permanent Chanyuan Celestial living in the Home.
  2. The Home takes full responsibility for supporting the elderly and raising and educating children. The elderly and children should live together with the middle-aged and young adults of the Home. Under no circumstances may nursing homes be established to isolate the elderly from everyone else. Whether the elderly live happily and blessedly is one of the main signs of whether the Home is complete and perfect.
  3. When a child enters the Home, the mother is responsible for everything concerning the child if the child is under three years old. For children over three, a three-month transition period is given, during which a designated person and the mother jointly guide the child and handle all the child’s affairs. After that, the Home assigns a designated person to take charge, and the mother no longer intervenes in any matter concerning the child.
  4. All children are children of the Home. Children of the Home do not know who their father is. Their raising and education are fully undertaken by the Home, and the child’s mother may not interfere in how the Home raises and educates the child.
  5. If a Chanyuan Celestial living in the Home has an incurable disease, they will no longer be sent to the hospital for treatment; only painkillers will be purchased to relieve pain.
  6. If a Chanyuan Celestial living in the Home is over 60 years old and suffers a disease involving loss of consciousness, such as a cerebral hemorrhage, the Home will no longer attempt rescue or send them to a hospital; everything will be left to Dao, because the path we follow is the natural way.
  7. After the passing of a permanent Chanyuan Celestial living in the Home, all funeral and follow-up matters shall be handled according to the Lifechanyuan Funeral System.

Admission, Withdrawal, and Visits

  1. Applications to become a permanent Chanyuan Celestial resident of the Home are handled by the General Home President.
  2. The basic conditions for a branch to accept a new member are: after becoming a Chanyuan Celestial, the person must have actively participated in discussions on the General Home website with no conflicts or contradictions for six months, contributed at least 2000 F-coins to the Home, severed worldly entanglements, and have no abnormal addictions or eccentric personality.
  3. Those whose worldly ties are not resolved may not become permanent residents of the Home—for example, those whose parents still require support, whose children still require raising, whose marital relationship still exists while one spouse is not a Chanyuan Celestial, or who still owe unpaid monetary debts in the secular world.
  4. The movement of Chanyuan Celestials among branch homes is governed by three principles:
  1. macro-level adjustment by the General Home President;
  2. when special work is needed in a branch, the two Branch Home Presidents may discuss it and, with the person’s consent, make the arrangement;
  3. the person may apply personally, and if both the current and receiving Branch Home Presidents agree, the transfer may be carried out.
  1. Chanyuan Celestials are to move among branch homes. The maximum length of time any Chanyuan Celestial may live in the same branch is three years. Once the three-year term is up, they must move to another branch.
  2. The movement of brothers and sisters among branch homes is adjusted through mutual consultation between Branch Home Presidents. As long as both presidents agree and the person being transferred agrees, it may be implemented.
  3. Chanyuan Celestials traveling to and from branch homes from outside the Home are to be received and seen off by the presidents of the respective branches. When Chanyuan Celestials enter or leave the Home, the Home sends people and vehicles to airports, railway stations, and bus stations to pick them up or see them off.
  4. To live in the Home, one must apply to the General Home President or General Assistant. One may not move in on one’s own, because food, clothing, housing, and transportation conditions must be considered.
  5. If a Chanyuan Celestial living in the Home wishes to go out or into town to handle personal matters, they must let the Branch Home President know. If they cannot return in time for a meal, they should also inform the cook.
  6. If any crowned Chanyuan Celestial wishes to leave the Home, no one may stop them. Entry requires the Home’s consent; departure is entirely free.
  7. If a Chanyuan Celestial living in the Home wishes to return to the secular world to visit relatives or because of another major event, they are completely free to do so. But if they later wish to return to the Home again, they must obtain the consent of the Branch Home President. One may leave freely, but may not re-enter casually.
  8. If the Home has only one bed available but more than one applicant, priority goes to the one with more F-coins.
  9. Anyone who wishes to leave the Home shall not be retained, obstructed, or hindered in any way. Whoever wants to go may go, and the Home will provide travel expenses, with the standard being the cost of a hard-sleeper train ticket or a bus ticket.
  10. The secular-world parents and children of Chanyuan Celestials may come to the Home for short visits, with a maximum stay of 15 days. Food and lodging are free. Visits may not exceed two times per year. Other relatives such as siblings, uncles, or aunts are not accepted for visits.
  11. All visitors shall be welcomed with smiling faces. The first person who sees the visitor should take them to the guest room and then inform the person specifically responsible for receiving guests as well as the Home president.
  12. The Home may welcome and receive journalists, visitors, exchangers, and government inspectors. Simple tea and water may be provided. But if they need accommodation and meals, they should be told that the Home is not an economic entity and has little income, so donations are hoped for. As for how much to donate, it depends entirely on their own feelings and willingness, but no invoices or receipts will be issued.
  13. Whether a national president, a journalist, a guest, or anyone else comes to the Home, there shall be no special reception. They shall stay in the rooms Chanyuan Celestials stay in and eat the meals Chanyuan Celestials eat in the dining hall.

Freedom and Taboos

  1. In the Home, communication is free, internet access is free, contact with the outside world is free, and information is completely unrestricted.
  2. In the Home, one may read any religious scriptures and any books, including officially banned books.
  3. The Home allows sexual freedom, but there must not be even the slightest coercion. The wishes and intentions of every person must be respected. Those who do not wish to have sex may refrain; those who do not wish to have frequent sex may refrain; those who like frequent sex may do so. Everyone has the freedom to make sexual requests, and everyone has the right and freedom to refuse them.
  4. The Home can only move step by step toward heaven, not slide step by step into the secular world. Therefore, once one-to-one or special emotional or sexual relationships are discovered, one of the following two methods shall be used according to the circumstances:
  1. merge the two people into the same bedroom for one full year, and not give people engaged in one-to-one or special relationships separate rooms;
  2. transfer one of them away from that branch.
  1. The Home does not allow any special relationships to exist, especially emotional ones. One-to-one relationships are absolutely forbidden. Once one enters the Home, marital relationships are automatically dissolved, and special romantic or sexual relationships are automatically dissolved.
  2. Brothers and sisters in the Home should treat one another with gentle expressions and pleasant faces. They may not glare coldly. Their voices should be soft and low, not rough and loud.
  3. Brothers and sisters may not educate or guide one another, nor scold or lecture one another.
  4. In the Home, foul language, lies, nonsense, vulgar talk, and slovenliness are forbidden.
  5. Gambling, drug use, quarrelling, fighting, and brawling are forbidden in the Home. Drinking alcohol is allowed, but Chanyuan Celestials may not smoke.
  6. Shouting and crying are forbidden in the Home, especially loud wailing.
  7. No matter who it is, once someone causes physical, mental, or spiritual harm to brothers or sisters, they shall be expelled from the Home.
  8. Chanyuan Celestials entering the Home must ensure that they do not have contagious diseases, especially sexually transmitted diseases. Anyone in the Home who has a sexually transmitted disease must be highly conscious and voluntary in abstaining from sexual life. Anyone who knowingly has such a disease and still engages in sexual relations with the opposite sex is considered to have caused mental, spiritual, and physical harm to others and should be expelled from the Home.
  9. From 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., and from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m., the Home must remain quiet so as not to disturb everyone’s rest and sleep.
  10. Room hygiene is cleaned by designated persons, and no one may refuse. During the day, doors may not be locked and curtains may not be drawn, unless a special scene is unfolding.
  11. Every member has the duty to keep personal bedrooms and public places such as dining rooms, kitchens, halls, bathrooms, and toilets clean, tidy, and orderly at all times. After using bathrooms and toilets, they must be cleaned properly, and all items must be kept intact and orderly for the next family member to use.
  12. Whether it is day or midnight, once an emergency occurs in the Home—fire, flood, theft, disturbance, or any event beyond normal behavior and phenomena—all must immediately stop what they are doing and rush to the scene in the shortest possible time to carry out emergency aid. No one may pretend not to hear or see.
  13. The Home is an international family made up of people of various religious beliefs. Since those entering the Home follow universal values, no churches, temples, mosques, Daoist temples, or any symbolic building that highlights only one religion may be built in the Home.
  14. No pictures or slogans related to religious belief may be hung anywhere in the Home, nor may any portraits of persons be hung.
  15. No form of religious ritual or place of worship is allowed in the Home.
  16. It is not permitted to inquire into or spread anyone’s privacy.
  17. Chanyuan Celestials may not give gifts to one another.
  18. Except for natural festivals, no festivals related to people, immortals, Buddhas, gods, nations, religions, or political parties are celebrated.
  19. No birthday celebration is held for anyone.
  20. The Home is based on self-reliance, so it does not conduct transactions with any person, organization, or group, nor cooperate with any person, organization, or group. Either follow the Home, or you go your own way.
  21. In the Home, any Chanyuan Celestial is allowed to curse or even insult the Guide; those who insult the Guide must absolutely not be retaliated against. But insulting other Chanyuan Celestials is not allowed.

Everything is centered on the goal of becoming ripe crops ready to be “harvested.” What everyone should clearly understand is that the procedures are only the restrictive hardware; whether the Home can become our ideal dwelling depends on the Chanyuan philosophy.
